What is Waterfront Registry ?

Waterfront Registry is a digital directory and interactive mapping platform built for coastal explorers. It helps users discover water-accessible dining, local culture, and overnight quarters like slips, lodging, and marinas in the South Alabama coastal region. Our platform focuses on the coastal region of South Alabama, including Mobile, Mobile Bay, Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Fort Morgan, Perdido Key, and surrounding waterways.

Is it free?

Yes, Waterfront Registry is completely free for boaters to search, explore, and use for navigating coastal locations.

How does the interactive GPS map work?

If you grant location permissions, the map displays a real-time blue beacon marking your coordinates. You can tap on map pins to view essential details such as slip availability, operating hours, amenities, and contact numbers.

Can I get directions to a location?

Yes. On any location’s detail page, tap the directions button. The website will deep-link directly to Apple Maps or Google Maps on your device, allowing you to route your trip by water or land.

How do I know if a location is water-accessible?

Water-accessible listings feature a dedicated badge. On the details card, you will also find a Dockage Info section outlining slip availability, water depth, and vessel tie-up instructions.

Where does the weather and tide data come from?

All marine weather forecasts, wind speeds, wave heights, and tide graphs are sourced live in real time from NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) and the National Weather Service (NWS).

Can I use the platform when I lose cell reception?

Yes. By tapping the Heart icon on any location’s page, it will be saved to your local offline cache. Even if you lose cell signal out on the open water, you can still access your favorited spots’ coordinates, descriptions, and contact info.

What is the Coast Guard Speed Dial?

Built with safety-first protocols, the platform features direct speed-dial shortcuts to local Coast Guard Sector desks (such as Sector Mobile) and 911. To block accidental calls while navigating rough waters, all emergency dials open a double-confirmation warning screen. You must explicitly confirm the dial before your device makes the call.
